ProVari Reviews
Well my ProVari finally arrived in the mail. Short review:
This thing kicks some major balls. I've tried close to 40 mods now and
nothing comes close to this bad boy. When I say this sets the new standard
I mean it. I sort of picture all the mod makers working away, the guy
that runs Provape walks over to the table, whips is wang out and says
"lemme show you how this is done."
For obvious reasons I don't often review other suppliers products. But
this thing is to good to pass up. I will create a video review once I
get around to it but for now here is the text version.
(By the way Vapor Talk has no affiliation with Pro Vape. I paid full
price for the unit the same as anyone else)
Lets start with the body
Pictures don't do the Pro Vari justice. Pro Vape really needs to get
some new pictures done. The pictures on their site look like someone is
trying to sell a Ferrari by posting cell phone photos of the car. It just
doesn't show off the beauty of the unit. Looking at their pictures I assumed
the body would be made of thin aluminum. Instead I'm pretty sure it's
made from DARPA's latest bullet proof technology. It's sleek, well built
and looks a lot like a light saber. The atomizer fitting is well built
and has recessed top cap. If liquid does happen to leak out, it's not
going to run down the unit. Although not the first to implement this,
it's still a nice touch. Both the top cap and end cap are chrome in color.
The body is brushed steel look.
Complaints: Minor. 1. I'd love to see this unit in black. It would look
amazing. 2. Your hands smell a bit like brass afterwards but I have no
doubt this will fade in time. A good cleaning with some baby wipes will
remedy this. I'm really nit picking here.
The end cap
It seems minor but people often complain about the end cap on mods. IE
the spring popping off, cap no screwing in smoothly etc. The cap literally
screws on as smooth as a volume nob on a stereo. The entire cap covers
the spring so there is absolutely no way the spring will ever pop off.
It's locked up tighter than an Enron share holder.
Built in micro controller
That's right, they put a mini computer in this thing. The Pro Vari has
an amazing list of little features.
On the fly voltage adjustment - You can change your units voltage from
3.3 - 6.0 in a matter of seconds using the built in digital display. Nice.
Ohm reader - There's a damn ohm reader built in. (Wonder if Radio Shack
will let me return the one I already have) Not sure if your using a LR
atomizer? Use the built in ohm tester to find out.
Voltage Checker - Check the currently voltage on your battery
LED on off - Turn off or on the LED
Sleep mode - Need to pack your unit and go? Put it into sleep mode and
it will shut down to stop the battery from draining. This essentially
disabled the button but you still have access to the LED feature screen.
All this is controlled via the built in LED screen. Slick. The screen
is covered by a magnified piece of glass/plastic making it easy to read
the red display. 6 quick clicks and your into the menu. 10 clicks and
it turns into a stealth fighter.
The Button
Often over looked but extremely important. This is what I was probably
worried about the most. The pictures show what looks like a plastic cheap
button. Not the case at all. The button is large. sturdy and comfortable
on the hands. It's clear and has an embed LED to show you when the unit
is engaged. While only time will tell, I don't see the button going out
any time soon.
Battery Life
All day. ProVari takes a single 18490/18500 battery which needs to be
purchased seprate. While I haven't really tested the battery life, I did
use the battery right out of the box without charging it. I ran at 4.1
volts (the happy spot for me) and it lasted well over 12 hours without
an issue. This wasn't constant vaping but the battery didn't die. My guess
is you'll get plenty of battery life. I'm sure other members will report
on this later.
To sum it up The Pro Vari is an amazing ecig mod. With all the bells and
whistles anyone could ask for and a 1 year warranty to boot, this is money
well spent. Granted the price tag at $150 bucks is steep, this could easily
be the last mod you ever need to buy.

Awesome vapor, Awesome feel, Awesome design = AWESOME DEVICE!! The menus
are super easy as you just have to press the button a certain number of
times to access any feature and then wait 2 seconds. You can adjust from
there or wait 4 seconds and you are ready for ACTION!

1st let me start off with thanking cuseguy for being my provari friend
and all the info he has posted on it. also want to thank everyone else
for their input and kind feed back when i had a question while i was making
my choice!
I absolutely love this unit. 1st all the problems ive had with juices
not being stong enough have just ended, this thing makes the juice taste
stronger i had to tone down my mixes cause they were just over powering.
I did a quick test with a volt add on and the voltage is right on with
it within 0.01..
the unit feels very good in the hand button interface is easy to use
and easy to understand without even reading the manual
The unit HITS i mean HITS like a champ it made me cough a bit and ive
hardly ever coughed before using ecigs the vapor production is more than
any device ive used..
I used 3 different carts and 3 different attys on the unit.. im only
going to talk about my experiences with cartos.. 1.8ohm boge LR carto
read 2.0 ohms on the vari very nice at 4.2, a 3ohm boge carto @ 4.5 volts
seams to be a good sweet spot for it, now this is where the vari shines
with the higher ohm cartos/attys because you have so much room to play
with the LR you cant go to high or the inside of the carto starts to burn
as i found out the hard way lol... the flavor of juices come out, completely
come alive like nothing ive used with a carto! very pleased
The drip catch/over flow catch is simply perfect perfect size catches
perfectly and easy to clean out!
unit is not much bigger than alt smokes BB which i love cause of its size
and ease to carry around while at work, pics below..
A few things i noticed that im not to fond of but not near a deal killer.
while i got the chrome one which is absolutely stunning! When and if you
get some juice on the finish it seams like its on there and you have to
really clean it to get it off. The chrome color loves finger prints but
that was expected. To change the voltage is easy but you gotta stop flip
the unit to see the lcd hit the button tell u get where u want if you
go to fast you may skip over it and have to find it again not a big deal
but something i thought id post.
I cant post on battery life as its still going! all day over 12 hours
now same 18650 and ive been using it non stop the light hasn't even started
flashing, so thats a A+ so far

Today was one of the most exciting days in vaping Ive had in a
while My brand spanking new ProVari finally arrived in the mail!
I have been on pins and needles waiting for this thing to show up (checking
the online tracking every hour or so) and could hardly wait to get home
from work once I saw that it was in town.
So I grabbed the mail, ran in the front door, tore open the box
and stood in awe at the beauty that lay before me. It wasnt more
than a couple minutes before I had one battery inside the unit and one
on the charger, an atomizer screwed on and I was vaping away like a steam
engine in sub-zero temperatures.
Ok. Before I give too much away too soon let me get on to the official
format. Here is my review of the ProVari after only several hours of ownership.
Ill check back in after a day or two and let you hear my thoughts
at that point as well.
First Impressions
Like I said earlier, when I opened the box I was in awe of the beauty
of this thing. It is gorgeous. It screams quality. When I went to unscrew
the endcap to put the battery inside, I swear I had never felt two machined
pieces of metal glide so incredibly smoothly against each other. It was
like they greased the threads with butter. Absolutely awesome.
The Build Quality
The unit is heavy, and rightfully so its made of stainless
steel and seems to be perfectly balanced from front to back. It
feels very comfortable in the hand. The activation button is made of hard
rubber or soft plastic so it has a grippiness to it that is pleasant,
but also seems durable. When you press in on the button, there is no click
at all. Just a smooth, responsive and solid movement with just the right
amount of spring to it. Something that impressed me about the button as
well is that there is no play in it. What I mean is that it doesnt
wiggle around at all. Ive only been using it for several hours but
I cant imagine this thing ever failing to fire when you want it
to.
Something I was curious about within the first hour or so was how well
it played with the various atties that I own. My eGo batteries can be
a bit finicky in this area (some atties dont sit perfectly inside
or make 100% contact with the little nub and it means that
90% work well but the other 10% dont work at all). Fortunately,
the ProVari has had zero problems getting along with any atties Ive
tried so far. Its obvious that ProVape engineered this unit with
those sort of things in mind.
The Performance
There isnt a soul on Earth that can argue that the ProVari doesnt
perform well. This unit is absolutely top-of-its-class when it comes
to creating the thickest, juiciest clouds of vapor that youve ever
seen. I am currently vaping a 2.1ohm atty at 4.3 volts (sorry for geeking
out for a second there) and it is rocking my freaking socks off. Ive
heard a lot people refer to 4.3 volts as the sweet spot and
at this point, I have to totally agree. The flavors of the juices Ive
tried are much more pronounced than they were on my 3.7 volt devices without
being over the top.
In addition to the increase in flavor over an eGo (or any other 3.7 volt
device), the vapor is increased quite a bit as well. If I had to estimate
how much vapor this makes compared to a 2.1ohm atty on an eGo battery,
Id say it makes about 30%-50% more vapor which is impressive
considering how well the eGo can belt it out. This is expected of course,
with the increase in voltage, but is impressive nonetheless.
Throat hit varies according to the voltage setting. At 4.3 volts, it
is only slightly stronger than a 3.7 volt device, but at 5 volts it really
gets kicked up a notch. Its hotter, more dense feeling (like smoke
feels), and generally just more intense. At 5.5 volts on this atty the
flavor started tasting burnt even immediately after dripping a
couple drops so I havent really cranked it up to that point
and vaped it enough to explore the throat hit. To truly experience the
throat hit at 5.5 to 6 volts, Ill have to pick up some 3ohm atties.
After trying all the available voltages that work with my 2.1ohm atty,
I really am happiest at 4.3 so far.
The Features
If youve spent any amount of time reading up on this device, you
already know it has virtually any feature youd ever need. You can
not only adjust your voltage up or down, but can also test the resistance
of your atomizers, check the remaining battery level, power the unit on/off
and turn the lights on/off. My favorite feature (besides the variable
voltage of course) is the ability to check atty resistance. I have a pretty
decent stash of atties laying around that have no markings on them and
its nice to see what an atty is rated at before you decide which
voltage to start with. It may be kind of a geek-centric feature, but Im
am loving it in a big way.
Final Thoughts
So obviously I love this thing. Like many variable voltage mods it performs
like an absolute champ, but for me what sets the ProVari apart and really
makes it worth the money are the attention to detail, the thoughtfulness
that was put into it, the ton of features, and the overall craftsmanship.
Investing $150 to $200 on a vaping device is no joke. Thats serious
cash for just about anybody I hang with, but Im dead serious when
I say that it is absolutely worth every penny. I would not only recommend
this thing to any one of my friends looking to step up their vaping, but
I may end up buying one in another color down the road. If youve
got the dough and have even remotely considered taking the plunge into
variable voltage, go get one of these right now.
